Stairway Bookshelves

An awesome use of
space!!!

This is a view of our stairway leading to the sub-basement. 

These shelves were built
using 1X2s cut for braces and 1X4's or 1X5s used for shelves.  These were
mounted between the joist in the walls in our unfinished basement.  

I started this project
last year and still have to finish it (notice the books with no homes) - I
intend to expand the project further until I have enough shelves for my
overflow. 

One challenge still remains --
finding the correct ladder to make the higher books more accessible. 
Currently, I am putting lesser used books there.
