One day at a time

5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7

Apron Thrift Girl Challenge

I love to hunt thrift stores and the like. I found this blog that has a Thrift challenge - It starts September 1st. I am really excited to see what I can add to the contest. Apron Thrift Girl Challenge

Have you bought old sweaters to frog and make new items from? I have heard of folks doing this, but never met anyone that ACTUALLY did it. Please let me know if you find some sweaters and if their yarn is usable. I want to try it too!

In fact, I had a few old cashmere sweaters that were my moms cousin's. I attempted to frog them and they did not work. The yarn came off in small strings. I researched this phenomn and found that the sweaters must have been felted a little. I would like to find some useable yarn from a used sweater some day. I would love to find some 100% wool to use for felted handbags by the sweater can't have any felting already. I may just look on my next trip. The SAL-ARMY has many sweaters to look at....(grin)
